This is the island of Nύmenor, which was lost before the end of the Second Age and raised in the beginning of it. It was supposed to be the most beautiful island of all the region of Arda. It was the last region in which mortal men could dwell and the island of Tol Eressea in the West was visible. There lived the famous Nύmenorian, who in the Third and Fourth Age ruled the Reunited Kingdoms of Middle-Earth.
